Every year, I sign myself up for a workshop or retreat. It’s a way for me to find myself, get inspired, and gain rest. I look for artists and talented people from the wedding industry. I seek community with them because I want to build a healthy support group among my photography friends. I still keep in touch with many of them even after the workshops and retreats. They remain a huge inspiration and encouragement to me and my career. Their unique influence has given me the courage to pursue the dreams that I live today.

I registered for the PROPEL WORKSHOP by CAROLINE TRAN earlier this year. I knew I wanted to connect with a more intimate group and explore film photography. There were no more than 15 attendees and we spent the next two days bonding, learning, and growing friendships with one another. We met at the gorgeous MALIBU WINES at SADDLE ROCK RANCH in Malibu, CA where most of the styled shoots were held. We also connected with vendors from the area who worked so hard to design our shoots and were so much fun to be with! Caroline gave us tips on how-to run a business artistically as well as practically. The classes were informative with opportunities to interact with the different photographers and to ask Caroline questions about her experience.

Caroline opens up herself with honest advice about being a wedding photographer, wife, and mom. She has become a great mentor to me and together with our group from the Malibu PROPEL WORKSHOP, she has kept me accountable in keeping my goals. Thank you, Caroline + wonderful Propellers!

You can read more about the PROPEL WORKSHOP experience and adventures on the most recent UTTERLY ENGAGED MAGAZINE.

And thanks to Mike from RAINBOW FISH CINEMA for producing this amazing video from the workshop!
